QuickBooks

QuickBooks Online is the most requested cloud ledger among Ghanaian accountants who trained on it or serve foreign-owned clients. You pay in dollars, you configure VAT, NHIL and GETFund yourself, and GRA E-VAT certification needs GRA’s own system or a third-party connector. For inventory-heavy traders, TallyPrime or an ERP is the better fit.

What it actually is

QuickBooks Online is a US general ledger with the deepest accountant network in this set. It is not a Nigerian payroll product, not an NRS e-invoicing product, and not a spend card. Firms buy it for the file their foreign accountant already knows.

Best for

  • Practices whose clients are already on QuickBooks
  • Importers paying USD suppliers from cedi accounts
  • Firms with foreign shareholders or auditors who expect QuickBooks

Not suitable for

  • Traders who need serious stock control
  • A business wanting a cedi-denominated bill
  • Anyone needing E-VAT certification inside the ledger with no extra vendor

Local support

Intuit has no Ghana office. Support is global; implementation comes from independent ProAdvisors in Accra and Kumasi.

Migration notes

From Excel or Sage 50, import a trial balance, open invoices and bills. Rebuild VAT codes to the 2026 structure before the first period you file.
